Privacy Policy

This Policy explains what personal data Klassez collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data. It applies to everyone who uses our Platform from Kuwait or elsewhere.

1. Data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data: name, email address, role (student or tutor), profile photo, optional phone number, and for tutors, Civil ID and qualification documents.
  • Booking data: sessions you book or teach, scheduling, subject and level, lesson notes, and the other party in the booking.
  • Payment data: we never store full card details. Card data is tokenised and processed by our payment partner. We retain transaction reference numbers, the last four digits of the card, the amount, and the currency.
  • Usage data: log data such as IP address, device type, browser, and pages visited. This is used to operate and secure the service.
  • Communications: messages exchanged on the Platform between students and tutors, and any communication you send to our support team.

2. How we use it

  • To run your account and process bookings and payments.
  • To match students with relevant tutors and operate search and filtering.
  • To send booking confirmations, receipts, reminders, and service-related notices.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and to enforce our Terms.
  • To comply with applicable Kuwaiti law.
  • With your consent, to send marketing about new features and offers. You can opt out from your settings page at any time.

3. Who we share with

We share data only with the parties needed to operate the Platform:

  • Tap Payments and MyFatoorah — payment processing for KNET, Visa, and Mastercard charges.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (booking confirmations, receipts, password resets).
  • Zoom — video infrastructure for live tutoring sessions.
  • Hosting and analytics providers — to operate, monitor, and secure the Platform.
  • Authorities — where required by valid legal process under Kuwaiti law.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers.

4. International transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside Kuwait. When personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the providers' standard contractual safeguards and their own published data-protection commitments.

Where you give specific consent for a particular cross-border processing activity, we record that consent and honour any later withdrawal.

5. Retention periods

We keep account and booking records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to support refunds, audits, tax obligations, and dispute resolution.

Typical retention periods:

  • Account profile: active life of the account, then up to 12 months after closure.
  • Booking and transaction records: 7 years from the date of the transaction, to satisfy tax retention rules.
  • Marketing consent and opt-out logs: retained while you have an account, plus 24 months.
  • Support communications: 24 months after resolution.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it where it is inaccurate, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, and request a portable copy of your data in a common machine-readable format.

You can exercise most of these rights directly from your settings page (export, deletion). For other requests, email privacy@klassez.com. We respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. These are required for the Platform to work and cannot be disabled.

Optional analytics cookies, where used, are opt-in via a clear consent banner and can be revoked at any time. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. DPO contact

Our data protection officer can be reached at privacy@klassez.com. For broader inquiries, see our contact page.

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
